Tom Pfannerstill

ARTIST STATEMENT

Pfannerstill is known as a “Champion of Humble Objects”, a professional fine artist and maker of painstakingly recreated, finely wrought hand-carved three-dimensional hyperrealist depictions of everyday common objects found on the street,
hand-carved in basswood and painted with acrylic and/or enamel. Pfannerstill presents work that he has called his rambunctious children, as “they would not be still”. He has referred to them as one-of-a-kinds, oddballs, and uniquities; things he made when he “should have been working on something else.”
